Col. R F Matonhodze

Colonel (RTD) Robson Francis Matonhodze (popularly known as Taffy) retired from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces where he was a commander in one of the Special Forces regiments. He was born in Bikita, Masvingo province in 1956. Col Matonhodze served both in the liberation struggle under ZIPRA and regular army in the Zimbabwe National Army. He served in the regular Army for 22 years. He commanded A 1 Parachute Battalion 1980-1983, parachute training depot 1984-1985,administration logistics stuff officer Grade 2 parachute group Brigade (equivalent) 1986-1988, trained 22 SAS (UK) and commanded Zimbabwe Special Air Services 1989-2001. He has been to Somalia, Mozambique, Tanzania DRC, Angola, Sweden, UK, USA, China and Russia. After the army in August 2001 he worked as a security manager with Breco international owned by Mr John A Bredenkemp from 2001 to August 2008, in August 2008 he joined Cargo Management services (CMS) as a security manager up to October 2014 he was promoted to Director Operations and security in November 2013 to date, Col Matonhodze works as an political, strategic and security advisor to Green fuel.

Colonel (RTD) Robson Francis Matonhodze did his primary school studies at Mandadzaka Primary School in Bikita and his secondary education in Harare at St George's. He holds a diploma in Special Operations (FORT BRAGG NC USA) Diploma in war and strategic warfare (Zimbabwe Staff College affiliated to U.Z) and a diploma in Marketing Management (CCOSA) affiliated to UNISA.
